Key Responsibilities:

This position will perform geodetic reductions, datum transformations, re-projections, geoidal corrections, post processing of GPS /IMU data, Digital imagery processing, Aerial Triangulation, Bundle block Adjustments, Orthorectification, 3D stereo capture, digital line mapping, contouring, and related soft copy photogrammetry tasks.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

Sound knowledge of Technical software- Micro Station, SOCET-SET, Ortho Vista, Photoshop or other digital softcopy photogrammetry or similar software as well as all relevant administrative software.
University or Technikon qualification in Geomatics, surveying or related spatial sciences discipline.
Knowledge of other specialised software such as POS-PAC, ESRI and Map Info and exposure to Digital Mapping, Photogrammetry, GIS and Remote sensing will be considered favourably.

This position will perform editing, enhancement, checks on steps to digital mapping data, data deliveries, archiving, documentation, file format conversions, data re-projections, data conversions, basic quality control and office administration.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

Sound knowledge of relevant administrative software and some knowledge of desktop GIS programs, preferably MapInfo or ARCGIS.
Matric with Mathematics / Science / Geography subjects
Post Matric qualification in Spatial Science will be considered favourably.

Responsible for project-based surveys in the engineering, mining and industrial sectors
Perform geodetic reductions, datum transformations, re-projections, geoidal corrections, pre and post processing of GPS /IMU data
Assign and allocate work to Field Survey Staff

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

Have a degree or advanced diploma in the Surveying discipline or be a Surveyor Registered with Plato
Sound knowledge of GIS &CAD programs as well as all relevant administrative software
Willing to work away for short periods
Exposure to digital mapping & LiDAR operation will be considered favorably
A valid drivers license

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

Ability to become proficient in Technical software- Micro Station, Terra-Suite or other digital LiDAR and related software as well as all relevant administrative software
University or Technikon qualification in Geomatics, surveying or related spatial sciences discipline
Some experience in Digital mapping / photogrammetry / GIS or Remote Sensing will be considered favorably
